A Syracuse native raised in Washington, D.C., Asar S. Saint Lamont is a Director, Writer, and Producer focused on socially conscious, character-centered cinema that explore humanity, morality, and emotional complexity. He earned his MFA in FIlm & Television Production from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts where he developed a strong foundation for production through practical and academic application as a George Lucas Scholar and an Ahmanson Scholar.
Some of his industry endeavors since include employment and/or collaboration with companies such as THE ACADEMY OF MOTION PICTURE ARTS AND SCIENCES, MONKEYPAW PRODUCTIONS, COLORCREATIVE, COLUMBIA RECORDS, CAPAOLOT RECORDS, BLACK ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION, VILLAGE ROADSHOW ENTERTAINMENT GROUP, CONCORDIA STUDIO, and more.
Asar is a 2023 Alumni Member of Academy Gold, THE ACADEMY OF MOTION PICTURE ARTS AND SCIENCES' talent development program, as well as an Alumni Director of COLORCREATIVE's Find Your People Program.
His USC Thesis Film, GOLD DOGMA, earned him an Faculty Award at USC's "First Look" showcase for Outstanding Writing and an Industry Award for Best Social Change film.
His most recent produciorial work, THREE COLORS: PAN-AFRICAN, won the 2026 "Slamdance" Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature.
Inspirations include: Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Ava DuVernay, Jordan Peele, Christopher Nolan, Shonda Rhimes.
